About the Teacher

Hansani Perera learned her steps from Mrs. Sheron Pasquel, Mrs. Mallika Williams, Mr. Kulasiri Budawatta, Mrs. Lasanthi Bogahathanna and Mr. Ravibandu Vidyapathi in her dancing career. Hansani Perera completed her school reading in art subjects at St. Bridget's Convent. There for she came 17 years in dancing life till to the present day. She started her career as a dancing teacher in St. Bridget's Convent, Colombo 07 in 2007. Hansani Perera developed an identity of her own and has cultured her lifelong passion with dance art.

In 2013 she started Hansani dancing academy & she is aiming to succeeded from her own dance academy. Today as a teacher, she has enlightened the dancing life of large number of students & troupe with professional dancers in her own.

Hansani Perera gives tremendous co-operation to make Sri Lankan dance to a higher position. She has an identity of her own. Through her innovations it conveys that she has a culture in her own. Her lifelong passion with dan ce has made her synonymous with the art.

About the Academy

"Hansani Dancing Academy" was started in 2013 to enlighten the dancing life of students and groom each student as professional dancers of our own culture. Hansani Dancing Academy train students to perform traditional, creative and modern dancing based on Kandyan, Indian dance and contemporary dancing acts on stage. The students of HDA strive to become familiar with all creative aspects of dance including choreography, staging, costuming, and performing.

The academy follows the school syllabus and students start dancing from the age of 5. A uniform, consisting of purple leotards, tights, etc should be worn by all students.

A high standard of discipline and conduct is maintained at all times. Students are expected to conform to and comply with the rules and regulations of the Academy. The uniform is compulsory and students should be well groomed when attending their classes.

"Hansani Dancing Academy" is a place of dancing geared at prompting the art of Dance as both an enjoyable social - light entertainment activity, and a performance oriented, competitive discipline.
